Battle Los Angeles

This is a must to rent it just recently came out on dvd for rental. I have seen a lot of movies that revolve around aliens trying to take over the work and totally wipe out the entire human race. I have to say that this movie so goes beyond that, it isn't your average alien movie with no depth and no story to it. We see in the eyes of the men and woman that are trying to survive and the determination to keep pushing forward. This movie shows that strength of men and woman in arms, yes being scared, but never giving up on fighting for their country and protecting the people in their country. The shooting sequences and examining it from the point of view of the individuals in the front line is gritty and in your face. The hard decisions it is to lead men and woman in war, and the hardship that one faces when you loose one or all of your team. I thought that the aliens were not over the top and not putting so much focus on the appearance of the aliens and trying to figure out how their space ships worked. The focus was to save life and save Los Angeles. The banding together and taking out one of the mother ships (if we can go there and call it) the action non stop from start to finish. Lets not forget the casting, you need actors and actress to pull off the lines and make us the views believe that yes, we feel you pain, strength and determination to survive and move forward. I say yes, rent this, it is not your average alien movie you will not regret renting it. If you haven't already went to the theater to see this film. Faster

Faster stars Dwayne Johnson, Billy Bob Thornton and Maggie Grace. The film is about an ex con who is bent on getting revenge on the persons responsible for the double cross that resulted in the death of his brother. Know only as the driver in the (Dwayne), we see him get out of jail after serving his time and he quickly kills someone. As the story starts to unfold and the pieces slowing start to fall into place, we then understand the reasoning for him committing the murder. Years prior to him being sent to jail, he assisted his brother with a robbery all in an attempt to help his brother pay back money he owed to some people. After they commit this robbery they are double crossed by someone, and these men show up wanting the money they just got from the robbery. To save his brother's life, he gave up the location of the money believing that would ensure him and his brothers safety. However, that was not the case and his brother was then killed by one of the men that came to rob them. He was then shot in the head and thought to have died, but he survived the gun shot and was caught by police and sent to prison. The first person that he kills after he gets out of jail is one of the men that was part of the double cross that resulted in the death of his brother. We now know that his main goal is to avenge his brother and kill all parties that are involved. As the story unfolds and progress we see that there is more to this story and that there are other factors that are involved. A detective that is hot on the trail trying to figure out why he would kill a random person, and looking through the evidence to find the clues. A seasoned detective with an agenda who wants the case so bad he can taste it, who is not being all that forth coming. This plus a hit man that has been hired to take out our lone gunman who is out looking to get revenge. This movie is non stop action from start to finish, we the viewer find our self routing for the driver (even though on a moral level two wrongs don't make a right) and wanting him to get some form of justice. This is a must to rent and a must to have in your home dvd collection. Hit your nearest Blockbuster for rentals and purchase.
